Home - Scripture The Bible - GOD’S Word on Godly Leadership

God’s word calls all humans to a most basic form of leadership – “…”Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and rule over…the earth.”

Genesis 1:28 God expects us to have dominion over all of His creation. He

reminds us – “The earth is the Lords and the fullness thereof; the earth and they that dwell within.” Psalm 24:1 So He obviously desires godly leadership –

“The godly people in the land all our mighty true heroes! I take pleasure in them.” Psalms 16:3

God looks for worthwhile leaders – “I sought for a man among them that should make up the hedge and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it…” Ezekiel 22:30

When the Lord looks for leaders, He asks – “Who is on the Lord’s side?” Exodus 32:26 “Choose you this day whom you will serve.” Joshua 24:15 God looks for believers with foresight because of the consequences of shortsightedness – “Where there is no vision, the people perish…” Proverbs 29:18 He also looks for leaders who will recognize the source of their effectiveness – “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit.” Zechariah 4:6 The Lord likewise looks to those who are receptive to His guidance – “Don’t try to copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is.” Romans 12:2

God’s desire would be for our leaders to value His Word – “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right.” 2 Timothy 3:16

He who is in you is greater than he who is in the World. 1 John 4:4

God Cautions/States

Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes, or powerful, or wealthy when God called you. Instead, God deliberately chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. 1 Corinthians 1:26-27

“If any would not work, neither should he eat.” 2 Thessalonians 3:10

“When I bring an army against a country and the people of that land choose a watchman, and when he sees the army coming, and blows the alarm to warn them, then anyone who hears the alarm and refuses to heed it – well, if he dies the fault is his own. For he heard the warning and wouldn’t listen; the fault is his. If he had heeded the warning he would have saved his life. But if the watchman sees the enemy coming and doesn’t sound the alarm and warn the people, he is responsible for their deaths.” Ezekiel 33:2-6

The Lord says, “These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far away. And there worship of me at amounts to nothing more than human laws learned by rote. Because of this, I will do wonders among these hypocrites. I will show that human wisdom is foolish and even the most brilliant people lack understanding.” Isaiah 29:13-14

United Christians Church is an online church of Biblical and political responsibility and personal accountability to Christ, our risen Lord and Savior. We encourage our dual members to also be active members of their local Bible believing church where they should attend, tithe, and volunteer. We seek to bring our members and visitors into a closer personal relationship with Christ. We desire to speak to current and relevant issues of the day from a Biblical perspective. Finally, we hope to educate members and visitors regarding our nations historical founding documents, including the history and truth behind what has been defined as a, "separation of church and state," and why participation in the public arena (including public service) is fulfillment of the role of membership in the Christian Church.
